FAQ
-
Bullet-time is a photographic technique where multiple images of the subject are taken at the same time at different positions and played in sequence to give a 3D perspective of the scene.
-
These rigs were designed to be a portable and versatile solution to bullet-time and 3D photography. Traditional bullet time rigs take multiple people hours to set up using structures made from scaffolding and can quickly take over the entire shoot.
These rigs solve these problems. They fit in a single Peli-case for easy transportation, set up in less than 15 minutes, are light enough to be operated handheld or on a tripod and run using bespoke software that can be tailored to any shoot.
-
Once the rig is set up, the onboard computer can be used to control the settings of all cameras simultaneously. To create a 3D GIF, all of the cameras are precisely triggered at the exact same time.
The images are then immediately downloaded and a preview of the 3D GIF is created within a few seconds. From there, it can be turned into a 5-10 second video and shared immediately via email, Dropbox or QR code.
For commercial/studio work, a high quality ProRes 422 version will be provided, created from the 6K RAW image files.
-
The final output is a looping video or GIF of each image played in sequence, also known as a wigglegram.
-
Portability was absolutely key in the design of these rigs. Each rig contains 8 cameras, fits into a single Peli-case (80 x 52 x 32 cm) for easy transportation, sets up in less than 15 minutes and weighs approximately 11 kg (24.2 lbs) including a battery and lenses. This makes them light enough to be operated handheld, or mounted to an Easyrig, monopod or tripod.
-
Yes. The software is entirely bespoke and can be customised in a variety of ways:
Add branded overlays to videos
Integrate into an existings structure or activation design.
Custom HTML templates for emailing to event guests
Custom integrations e.g. Dropbox
-
Yes, the software is entirely bespoke. Reach out if you require any custom integrations, they may already be available.
-
These rigs can be taken pretty much anywhere. As well as studio work, they are suitable for a range of events, activations, festivals and weddings.
-
To get a clean bullet-time effect, you typically need to use a high shutter speed, which requires a good amount of light. You can also get very interesting results using slower shutter speeds and long exposures.
Each rig uses a wireless triggering system that can also trigger multiple flashes up to 100 metres away with pinpoint accuracy. Lighting packages including flash kits can be supplied upon request.
-
Absolutely. Although they are not waterproof, these rigs have been designed to go anywhere and require no external power or WiFi connection.
-
Each rig runs entirely from a single battery, powering all cameras and onboard computer for up to 8 hours.
